Julie Mathison

Julie Mathison is the founder of Starr Creek Press and the award-winning author of novels for readers of all ages. Her books have been the recipient of the Eric Hoffer Book Award for Best Middle Reader, the First Horizon Award for debut books, the Best Book Award for Children’s Fiction from American Book Fest, and the Writer’s Digest Best eBook Award for YA Fiction. She is also a two-time BookLife Prize Semifinalist and Wishing Shelf Finalist. She lives in the Pacific Northwest where she writes and speaks about the interface between traditional and independent publishing and the role of quality self-published works in maintaining a diverse and robust literary ecosystem.
